Library
Back

Officially
opened in October 2000, the new library is centrally situated
with an unusual fan shaped floor plan. It is the central
starting point for many activities from providing resources
for curriculum needs, a before and after school homework
destination, recreational reading, audio-visual resources,
Internet access, printing and photocopying.
It
is a venue for staff and student displays as well as a great
space for speakers and information nights.
All this fits well with our aim of being a central resource
point for the school community and a link to the resources
available locally and nationally.
The
library featured in 2003 as one of the ten case studies
in the School Library Case Studies publication “Effective
Learning Spaces”. One of the special features is the
unconventional use of recycled wooden shelving, allowing
a very open space to be created, which enables the flexible
use of the area.
