Welcome to Stawell Secondary College. The next stage of your educational journey is about to begin and that stage starts with us. Here at the College we believe success is possible for every student. School will be both exciting and challenging, but ultimately rewarding.
The school values can be summed up in three words: respect, excellence and community. We believe that respect for yourself and others is essential in fostering a positive learning environment for all students. Every student has their own pathway to the future and our aim is to provide the opportunities for each and every student to achieve success in their chosen field.
Students engage with their learning in Years 7 to 10 through a framework provided by AusVELS. Students then choose a pathway through either the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL). Excellence is pursued in all studies within the school, whether it is English, mathematics, materials technology or automotive studies. We encourage our students to aim high.
Opportunities to extend the individual are available through sport, music, leadership, international exchanges, outdoor education, camps and many other co-curricular activities. Success is celebrated in all areas and all levels.
The challenging journey of high school is possible through a strong and supportive community. At Stawell Secondary College we are both a learning community and a caring community. Every student is part of a pastoral care group in the care of a pastoral care teacher. The school provides support and encouragement for all students and works closely with parents, carers and the wider community to ensure a positive and respectful environment.
